Growing up in a Nigerian household -- a creative space filled with music -- the Chicago-born twin brothers Taiwo and Kehinde Hassan became Christian Rich. As children their father was an avid member of the church and the lead singer in the choir. The brothers convinced him to buy a keyboard for the church so they could use it. At home they would hear an eclectic variety of music like King Sunny Ade, Obey, Bob Marley, Sade, Phil Collins, and more. Fast forward and the twins are Grammy nominated producers who have made hits for some of the biggest like Drake and J. Cole. Christian Rich is an entity that display’s paramount style, can show up and DJ a hi-profile event or basement party, design a line of clothing, and pay it all forward to students at a university speaking on business strategy in a packed college lecture hall.

Based in LA and under the guidance of the almighty Pharrell Williams and Shae Haley of N.E.R.D, Christian Rich honed a musical craft that would successfully garner opportunities to work with the likes of Diddy, Lupe Fiasco, and produce half of Earl Sweatshirt’s album ‘Doris’. As their stock appreciated, Kehinde and Taiwo tipped the demands in their favor, becoming known for their signature polished, melodic beats infused with electronic sounds and hard drums similar to the way their Star Trak mentors did almost a decade ago.

When talking about #1 albums in rap these days you might mention Drake’s Nothing Was The Same and J. Cole’s Born Sinner; both of which Christian Rich have contributed their production talent to. The textures in their music are all over the spectrum. Ken and Tai might make a record like “Crawl”, a single for Childish Gambino off of his Billboard #1 'Because The Internet' album, then turn around and create dusty track’s suitable for a ‘90s Wu Tang LP or for Earl Sweatshirt’s Billboard #1 debut album Doris (“Chum”, “Centurion”, “Molasses”, “Knight”). If communion is the coming of age then Ken and Tai have received the blood and body respectively. Donald Glover, aka Childish Gambino, is such a firm believer in the Christian Rich creed that he enlisted them to produce on his latest Kauai EP. Most recently they have produced two songs on Vince Staples' major label debut album Summertime '06 including the breakout single "Señorita".

Prolific is not just a word to describe these blood brothers, they are tactful artists who create and exist in several realms. Most people look at a pair of sunglasses or try them on. Christian Rich looks at what they could do to make them more appealing to new demographics. In November 2014, they designed and released their first eyewear collaboration with Italian eyewear company, LGR. From fashion to music industry mentors, they also completed an eight month position as Creative Directors at Redbull SoundSelect producing and A&R’ing for Redbull SoundSelect artists and pairing them up with emerging artists including Twin Shadow, Danny Brown, Earl Sweatshirt and others for their SXSW 2014 showcase.

The business savvy they pride themselves for has warranted successful partnerships. Most recently teaming up with Audi for their recent #paidmydues campaign collaborating with the car company on visuals and art for the upcoming Christian Rich album FW14 slated for release in late Summer 2015.The album was inspired by their fascination with the future, time travel and the worlds outside our galaxy. There are interludes that sound like a person traveling in space and time. FW14 is the season; a time stamp for the journey and starting point of exploration. It all comes together under their creative steeple. When asked about their versatility in music, Kehinde puts it simply, “we are designers who are popular in designing music". Prayer hands.
