“Emotional, funny, quirky, warm, sad, reflective, thoughtful and unique songs. Love the guitars and the vocal sincerity.” – Dave Davies
“...terrific - great vocals and sound, lots of sixties atmosphere.” – Rod Argent
"The Moons’ new album became the soundtrack to the final week of the Tour de France in my room. It’s the best Moons album yet."  Bradley Wiggins

The Moons -- a London-based quintet by way of Northampton in the Midlands -- whip up their own incandescent style of 60's psychedelic pop sounds, underpinned with a timeless British tunesmith sensibility. Fronted by singer, songwriter and guitarist Andy Crofts, the band  -- James Bagshaw (guitar), Ben Gordelier (drums), Thomas Van Heel (keyboards) and Thomas Warmsley (bass guitar) -- interweave garage rock, glistening orchestrations, and infectious rhythms. All five members are multi-instrumentalists, providing a solid backbone of inspiration for their creative method; but moreover, they see upholding the tradition of classic British songwriting as their sacred duty, and draw upon Andy Crofts’ bountiful wellspring of repertoire for their exquisitely fine-honed melodies. “A little hook just isn’t enough,” asserts Andy (usually found behind the Hammond organ in Paul Weller’s band). “We look to our icons to craft the perfect song".
The forthcoming 12-track album, Fables of History, was produced by Stan Kybert (Oasis, Massive Attack) and recorded over three weeks at Edwyn Collins’ West Heath Yard studio. Brimming with tight harmonies and shimmering layers of guitar, organ and psychedelic orchestration, reminiscent of Love or Mickie Most-era Donovan, but with a driving beat. The album features such stand out numbers as the haunting “Jennifer (Sits Alone)”; a dark Byrd-sian duet, “Something Soon” featuring Paul Weller, and a dreamy reworking of a live favorite, “English Summer”, “an observation of a typical day in England,” comments Crofts. “The weather, the people -- take your brolly just in case." The first single from the album, a fuzz-beat stomper called “Double Vision Love” was released in the UK in May, through Schnitzel Records and received much attention on BBC Radio, as well as the Soccer AM television show.

Beginning life as a side-project in 2008, The Moons’ UK debut album Life On Earth (2010) was an indie Top 30 hit and an HMV One To Watch. (Paul Weller was also a guest on that album - playing piano on the track “Wondering” and guitar on “Last Night On Earth”). Rigorously touring around the UK, the band rapidly earned themselves a loyal fan base; they notched up notable media appearances on Channel 4’s The JD Set and BBC Radio 2’s Live at Maida Vale feature session, as well as playing an in-store performance at HMV in London's Oxford Street. With support slots for The Coral, Mystery Jets and The Zombies under their belts, it didn’t take long before The Moons’ hard work and eager following caught the attention of Liam Gallagher and Gem Archer, who handpicked the band to tour with Beady Eye in a series of sold out arena shows across Europe.

They now make their European debut, with tour dates to be announced at a later date. Keep 'em peeled!
